Disable unnecessary Windows Vista services

If you want to fully maximize your Vista performance, you can disable some unwanted services that you won't be using anyway, especially if you are a home user.

To disable the services:

1. Type msconfig in Run and click "Ok".2. Click the Services Tab3. Now you can disable any unwanted service simply by unchecking the box to its left.

The list of unnecessary services are :

Computer Browser : If you are not connected to any other computer, then disable this service freely.

ReadyBoost : If you are not using ReadyBoost, then disable this service freely.

Fax : If you aren't using Fax, then disable this service freely.

IP Helper : If you aren't using IPv6, then disable this service freely.

Offline Files : If you don't use Offline Files, then disable this service freely.

Print Spooler : If you don't have any printer installed, then disable this service freely.

Windows Defender : If you're using a 3rd party anti-spyware program, then disable this service freely.

Portable Device Enumerator Service : If you don't use any portable device, then disable this service freely.

Windows Time : If you don't keep your time internet synchronized, then disable this service freely.

Remember : There will be no problem after disabling either of this services, unless you install something that might require a certain process which you have disabled, remember that it can be enabled at any time.
